This is a 4 credit hour class offered at LCC. Learn identification, characteristics, appropriate uses, and cultural requirements of plants used in landscaping in the Pacific Northwest. Learn how to select the right plant for the right place.
Both natives and non-native trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and vines are studied. Three hours a week are spent in the "field" (UO campus, SUNA, and Amazon neighborhoods). Winter term focuses on conifers and broadleaf evergreens.
This class may be taken P/NP if a grade is not required for a major. The catalog lists LAT 155 as a pre-requisite. This is not necessary. BUT you must go to the Advanced Technology Office (Building 12; 541-463-5380) for an override.
