Here's the deal: I'm interning at a program called Farm to School, and am implementing a big project there in the spring. I'm up for a scholarship through the Students in Service program. It's extra awesome, because if I'm one of the winners, they'll also give $2,500 to my internship site, who could really use the donation. Farm to School operates through the Willamette Farm and Food Coalition (http://www.lanefood.org/home.php), and is a nonprofit in Eugene that works to connect kids, especially low income kids, to healthy, fresh, local foods, educating about nutrition along the way. My project is going to begin to expand some of these services to families as well (crucial to improving student health, no?). There are three scholarships, one of which is determined by online voting. Sooo...
